used the self service thing in the supermarket today.

Just no option, was in a hurry, only two tills open and both with long queues. Profiling of the queuing punters suggested that I'd be in for about a 20 minute wait regardless of which line I joined.

Self service and I was done in sixty seconds. I feel dirty but needs must.

yeah it doesn't seem to like items that are too light - like a six pack of crisps.

you can; they are called supermarket shite you dont 'have' to but its advisable to help dissipate the co2 that comes out after roasting. fresh roasted can be used but its better to give them a few days. i usually do a week. you can see the build up in bag as it inflates a bit, even with a valve on bag. after a week or so they will steady up. still be super fresh too.
a kilo is about £30 or so delivered;; that does about 40+ coffees

Must be good coffee, Grant, I usually pay about $35 (Australian) or $45 delivered. Although one company offered me some “specialty” beans for $420. Pass.

had new remote and GUI for the cable box. Just a nightmare having to learn a whole new remote layout and interface.

I think I am getting too old to learn these things easily.

Needless to say the new interface is not as good as the old one, which wasn't as good as the one before that. Useful features get removed, useless ones introduced. What used to take one button press now takes 7. But it all looks prettier.

I mean who cares? It's just a thing to find stuff to watch on telly/ I was happy back in the 90s when it was green text on black I don't need all the pointless graphics. These things always get worse with each version.

for example for the past 30 years at least they have had a 'Favourites' feature where you can create a separate menu with just the channels you want on it.

This saves you having to scroll through all the crap channels you're never going to watch - in my case religious, news, foreign, wildlife, murder, cooking, shopping.

Plus all the channels you are locked out of, because even though you're forking out a grand a year you still have to pay extra for 'movie' channels that show pictures like 'What Women Want' with Mel Gibson and other films that are always in constant rotation on free to air channels anyway.

Now with the new version there's no favourites feature, you have to scroll through all that pap.
