It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Death on the Nile, 2022..

Salome Otterbourne is clearly based on real-life Sister Rosetta Tharpe (who just might have invented rock and roll). Five songs in the film are performed by Tharpe, and a sixth Tharpe song is performed by others.

Shot entirely on large format 65mm film. Sir Kenneth Branagh's previous turn as Hercule Poirot in Murder on the Orient Express (2017) was also shot in this format as well as his adaptation of Hamlet (1996).

I hadn't heard of 65mm film format, though I have heard of 70mm.

(Just looked it up, 65mm film stock is used in the camera, which is then printed onto 70mm wide film for projection. You learn something every day. )

    Peggy Sue Got Married, 1986...

The opening shot of the film is an optical illusion. Because the camera and crew would have been seen in the reflection of the mirror had the scene been shot in a conventional manner, there is a body double for Kathleen Turner (only she can be seen from behind in the shot) on the other side of the "mirror," doing the exact opposite of the star's movements, giving the illusion that Turner and Helen Hunt are reflections, when in fact they are the real actors in tableau with a body double sitting in front of them with her back to the camera in front of an empty mirror frame, framing a hole in the wall of the set.

When Peggy Sue's friends take her home after she faints at the blood drive, the car radio plays "Tequila." The radio station is KFRC San Francisco, which altered its live programming for the movie.

Helen Hunt, who plays Peggy Sue and Charlie's daughter, is nine years younger than her mother (Kathleen Turner) and a year older than her father (Nicolas Cage).

excellently made film and good fun t'boot..

    now,made 3 vyears on ... Harlem Nights, 1989...

Eddie Murphy once said that the jokes and camaraderie between him, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Robin Harris, and Della Reese behind the scenes were much funnier than anything that was in the film. The vulgar, yet playful arguments between Redd Foxx and Della Reese on the set inspired Eddie Murphy to create a series starring the two. The result was The Royal Family (1991), which was Foxx's final project before his death.

The story of Irish mobster Bugsy Calhoune trying to take over Sugar Ray's night club in order to control black Harlem is loosely inspired by the real-life feud between Jewish gangster Dutch Schultz and black gangster Bumpy Johnson over control of Harlem's lucrative "numbers" gambling rackets in the mid 1930s.
