    God, that sounds horrendous.

    But more importantly, how was the Cortina? Which one was it? Mine was just a Mk 5 1.6L, but I loved that car.

    Ouch, that is tough guy stuff. But did your instructor never tell you that "Hajime" is not Japanese for "Charge head first at your opponent"?

    It was 1968 so a Mark 1, white over green I vaguely recall

    Green belt, for years and years . I got told off for not taking gradings.
