Sounds feasible Barry but having arrived home at 7am I doubt very much if I'd have slept for 24 hours!

Perhaps not insomnia as such, but another early morning wakeup - 6 am. I'll play around here for a while, then go back for a snooze.

woke up 0630 busting for a slash. No point going back to bed. I've had 7 hours that'll do. Might get some things done before it gets stupid hot. Then again I might not.

Not so hot here - really boring and will probably get muggy and rain. Didn't feel the need to stay up in the middle of the night this morning. Not sure why I felt that way the last couple of nights - perhaps it was the curries we had for dinner.

I've noticed that sometimes I don't sleep so well if I've had a curry. Not always the case though.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

In recent months I've taken to having a couple of paracetamols at bedtime to help with my aching bones. I start off with a comfortable sleep, but then the buggers wear off and I do a lot of waking up from about 4am.

Got up at 6 this morning so decided to do an early visit to the local car boot. Got 4 CDs for 3 quid so not all bad.

    What did you get?

My bladder wakes me up after about six hours. Can usually go back to sleep though, whether I actually get up and go for a slash or not. Opted not to get up for it his morning. When I did get up it was like that 'evacuation' scene from 'Austin Powers', I must have been pissing for two minutes straight.

Was up at 0700 this morning although alarm is not set at weekends, that's what time it is set to go off in the week. My brain is trained I suppose.

Seemed to all change once I got into my forties. Before that, waking up at midday on a weekend was not unusual and it was never earlier than 0930. I can't remember how long it has been since I woke up that late now.
