That's great isn't it? One of only two modern shows that I actually watch.
Now all we need is for the 'Curse Of Oak Island' people to actually find the frigging treasure and there's no point me having a cable subscription any more. I can watch proper telly (i,e the pre-1980 stuff) on freeview for nothing.

Reboot. It got as far as four seasons which is more than I thought it would manage.
Thing is they've cancelled that but renewed 'SWAT' and 'CSI:Vegas' which are both unwatchable shite.

if you read the Newsweek article I linked to, SWAT and CSI:Vegas actually get less viewers overall than Magnum P.I, but they get more viewers in the 19-49 age demographic, which is what the advertisers/sponsors want to target.
I guess they realise that us over-fifties are far to wise to waste our money on whatever crap they are flogging. I always tape it and fast-forward through the ads anyway so I'm a dead loss to the sponsors regardless.

ive stuff on a tv type hdd that i recorded 8/9 yrs ago. its now interesting to look at the ads occasionally and see if i can guess the product. some of those ads were actually quite good in an ad sense.

I dunno about that, 8 or 9 years ago is practically yesterday as far as I'm concerned. Have ads really changed that much?
I do my best to avoid them altogether, even on the rare occasion I'm watching 'live to air' I will mute the sound when the ads come on.
I do like to watch some of the ads from the 1970s though, purely for nostalgia purposes. 'Ronco - the perfect Christmas gift' and 'You can't kanacker a Knirps.'
Knirps still seem to be a going concern surprisingly.

Magnum and Higgins eventually got a snog at the end of season 4. I reckon Thomas saw the writing on the wall and decided to steam in there while he had a chance.
CBS were too quick to believe the younger folk when they say they prefer the other shows, seemingly unaware that said demographic are too busy on their X-Boxes or gawping at their smartphones to give a shit what's on the telly.
