Imo the best part of Kenny's story is the song I got my signature from
Only played 'Gambler' but really just bought this to play about it with for sampling and making music for my own amusement, however Kenny does have some great drum breaks and guitar riffs and after watching a tribute to KR on You Tube by Skratch Bastid I wanted to play with his stuff and £1 for a mint LP was ok for that.
Like many similar artists or should I say, artists of a similar era it does have a charm and some nostalgic value from hearing stuff on the radio as a kid etc. and that is why to a greater or lesser degree I like and listen to some of the more mainstream or 'pop' stuff that is not always of interest on here - we call is cheesy or guilty pleasure but I'll happily listen to some of those things without shame

No shame at all; I will happily listen to pop music from the late '50s onwards, be it from the US or the UK, for a sense of nostalgia.

Me too, some of my favourites which have stuck with me include The More I See You by Chris Montez, The Happening by The Supremes, and more recently Boney M's version of Sunny. I want that last one played at my funeral, but Mrs. P she say no.
"Guilty pleasures" include stuff by S Club 7, Take That, Sugababes, Kylie, and I'm don't feel the least bit guilty about it. Why deny yourself stuff that brightens your day just because it ain't cool?

I wish this one had made it to vinyl (or widely released pressed CD).
I appreciate Reggie's humor/comedy. It made hanging out with him after a show in North Carolina a lot of fun. They had just released Khronos. However, I know of Reggie because of Maktub. I don't know of Maktub because of Reggie. It is and always will be music first for me.
