Just been to local Tesco to get some bottled water (cheap way of getting spring water for my home brew - gives better flavour than chlorinated tap water) - Still seems to be a shortage, shelves pretty much empty of water

Even more worrying (for me), I managed to get the last box of Carr's table water - finest biscuit for cheeses in my opinion, no need for fatty/flakey/flavoured (I do like a bit of alliteration ) "biscuits for cheese".
Keep your eyes peeled folks - Christmas wouldn't be the same without Carr's table water.

No problem at all at the petrol station though.

Don't know about your local water authority, but ours has been emailing us about greatly reduced levels in our reservoirs. One call to the newspapers, and hey presto, panic buying of bottled water. Wouldn't surprise me.

When I was an apprentice, one of my duties was doing a weekly shop for the boss's sister. List always included PLJ (pure lemon juice) and Carr's Table Water biscuits. Forgot about them until now. I'll have to get some, make a nice change from Jacob's cream crackers. Might even get fifty boxes in case they run out. Sorry if that contributes to a shortage.

It's not a problem - the current Prime Minister is a big enough clown to make up for the 1,500 shortfall.

Interesting about reduced levels in reservoir - my daily dog walk takes me around part of the edge of our local reservoir and I have been surprised how quickly it is going down.
Only two weeks ago it looked pretty damn full. Today it seems to have dropped significantly, about twenty foot of "beach"/sand exposed in a very short time.
We've not been enjoying incredibly hot weather/drought conditions - what on earth is going on

Yes, in terms of the latter, things are definitely getting better. However, there are no shortages of water or any forms of foodstuffs here. Don't you buy things like mineral water in bulk packs?

We use a lot of it for drinks and other things, so buy it in shrink-wrapped packs of six 2-litre bottles, and don't let stocks run down

I just placed an online order to Tesco for a grocery delivery (in three weeks) and a lot of 'regular' items are not available.

Last time I tried to visit the local store, I couldn't get to the car park due to the access road being blocked by the queue for fuel.
