'The Man From Atlantis'
Just a random episode from 1978 that I taped as it was on in the middle of the night.
Not seen any of these since they were ordinally broadcast. I recalled it being watchable if not great, but I can tell you now it's shockingly poor. Much worse than I remember.

I did try to watch one based on your recco but it was very, very slow to get started and seemed to require some prior knowledge I didn't have.

Stupid Sky box only recorded first half of Ep. 1 and couldn't get the rest on catch up. So no idea how it ended up. Then I lost interest.
Just getting into something called "Bosch" on Prime Video. Quite interesting despite the main character being a bit dull. I'll stick with it for a while in case he does something interesting.

I guess you could describe the pace as 'measured', but the cast and acting are top notch and what violent action there is, is immediate and decisive.
It does help if you see them in sequence though.
