Picnic at Hanging Rock , 1975. With its haunting panpipes and unanswerable conclusion(or lack of), Peter Weir's film of the disappearance of several schoolgirls and their teacher during a picnic at Hanging Rock, Victoria on Valentine's Day in 1900, and the subsequent effect on the local community is still a classic tale and a beautiful one.
One odd film and one you'd more expect from likes of David Lynch.
