Bunny Lake Is Missing, 1965. Stars Laurence Olivier. Directed by Otto Preminger.
As with the 1960 film Psycho, audiences were not admitted after the film's start. This was not common practice at the time and was emphasised in the film's promotion, including on the poster, which warned: "No One Admitted While the Clock Is Ticking!"
The fim again is now thought of in a much better light than on release. This is the Bluray version.

Strange film, I've seen it a few times. Quite liked it, but no doubt not to everybody's taste. Carol Lynley was a great looking girl.
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

yes its an interesting film and Jane Fonda was hoping to get the role, but Preminger had already decided he wanted Lynley. And yes she was very pretty. Keir Dullea Got the role in 2001 off the back of his performance here, and didnt have to even audition.

A rarity now.. After The Fox, 1966. directed by Vittorio De Sica and starring Peter Sellers, Victor Mature and Britt Ekland.
Alas some of the best jokes were cut by Italians who didnt speak English and missed their humour. But it is still a cult film. Vitor Mature was great at making himself a joke.

Bad Day at Black Rock, 1955. directed by John Sturges and starring Spencer Tracy and Robert Ryan, Anne Francis, Dean Jagger, Walter Brennan, Lee Marvin, and Ernest Borgnine. this is the bluray edition.
Just before shooting began, an indecisive Tracy tried to back out of the picture. Schary made clear that he was willing to sue the actor if he quit the film.According to Robert Osborne of the television network Turner Classic Movies, in the introduction to the film's airing on its weekly segment The Essentials, Tracy, weighed down by his growing alcoholism, refused to give MGM an answer. In order to close the deal, according to Osborne, an MGM executive contacted Tracy shortly before filming was to begin and said, "Don't worry, Mr. Tracy, a copy of the script has been sent to Alan Ladd and he has agreed to do the picture." The next day, Tracy committed to Bad Day at Black Rock. Ladd, however, apparently never even saw the script. It turned out to be Tracy's last film for MGM, with the exception of How the West Was Won (1962), for which Tracy supplied the narration.

House of Bamboo, 1955. Directed and co-written by Samuel Fuller, and starring Robert Ryan, this is an American film noir shot in CinemaScope and DeLuxe Color. Supporting cast is Robert Stack, Shirley Yamaguchi, Cameron Mitchell and DeForest Kelley.
For many years after its initial release, the film was only seen on TV in pan-and-scan prints, leading people to believe that DeForest Kelley has a small role near the end of the film. When Fox finally struck a new 35mm CinemaScope print for a film festival in the 1990s, viewers were surprised to see that Kelley was in the film all the way through—he was just always off to one side and thus had been panned out of the frame.
This is the remastered Eureka Bluray from late 2020.
