Just been to top up the tank in the Brabster, and given what we were discussing recently about petrol stations, I thought I'd snap a couple of pics from the place I use locally (less than 5 mins drive from my door).. As you can see I could hardly move for the crowds!



Brabster at the front... A blissfully serene and relaxed experience, in all respects, including the friendly 'Hello, how are you today, sir?' I was greeted with by the lovely man in the shop, whilst he took the contactless payment and processed my reward points.

In and out in less than 3 mins, minus time for taking the pics, and now home for breakfast!

film finished yes looks quiet. we have a bp station thats usually quiet like that.. on a busy rd too. Think most now use the supermarkets. petrol was 1.32 last time i looked.. makes evs seem like a good idea sometimes lol

133.9 per litre locally, Tesco, Morrison’s, or there are a couple of BP places which are a couple of pence more expensive

Anyway, hope you enjoyed it. Yeah, BP's always the dearest fuel. No idea why, but that's certainly been my experience. Texaco's not cheap either, especially the stuff I use, but as I hardly do any miles, especially now, price is a non-issue.

I put in just shy of £40, to top up the tank from just over half empty, and that'll do me for a least a month, often 6 weeks.

The station's bang in the middle of Wrexham town centre, and I've never seen it much busier, although I do go at off-peak times. However, if folks want to use supermarkets, and that keeps the station I use nice and quiet, then it suits me just fine!

I also like, and very much value, the 'human touch', and being SERVED by someone with a friendly and cheery disposition, which of course is non-existent when serving yourself at the pump. It just makes the experience so much nicer, don't you think?

Especially when the world today is gradually being stripped of many forms of niceness - and you can enjoy these simple pleasures when you don't have to run around like a headless chicken, lol

saw a filling station in Liverpool at the weekend that's completely automated, no staff or kiosk at all. What used to be the kiosk is bricked up. Welcome to the future.

Exactly! Utterly dreadful... Well, I hope that 'the future' stays well away from here for as long as possible!!

if my car was a performance one i'd likely use a fancier fuel, but toyota say bog standard stuff is all it needs. the injection system adapts to what its burning, temp humidity etc.

the asda station a few miles away was all automated. ive only used it once or twice and that was yrs ago. But i think it was designed that way.

I topped my car up a week back. I had to put over half a tankful in, so that was £17 quid's worth .

That'll last me until autumn.
