It's funny, a lot of guys say that they don't understand or 'get' women, and so often struggle in their relationships with them.
I guess I'm lucky with Del (who despite being a princess and sometimes 'high-maintenance') is mostly just a joy. However, I've generally always got on well with women, I think simply because I find them to be rather fascinating and beautiful creatures, plus crucially came to the realisation pretty early that they're 'wired' completely differently from us, thus have quite different emotional needs.
So when they want to 'play', you let them play, and generally you're rewarded in the end.. If you try to stifle that or deprive them of the female company or contact they crave, or control them for your own ends, simply through either selfishness or ego, IME it leads to resentment and always comes back to bite you on the bum...
As you know, Del's a fair bit younger than me, also looks young for her age (and has a 'young head'), hence why some of her friends are younger than her and can relate to her on important levels, although she also has older friends too, which she's equally close to. That's why I don't mind occasionally being 'kicked out' of the house lol, to give both her pals and her the space and privacy that they need, especially when some of them are young enough to be my daughter!
In the end it's all good, and that shared level of respect and understanding is probably why Del and I have been happily married for so long., and her friends think I'm 'cool'. Anyway, I hope those thoughts weren't too deep for a wet and rainy Sunday evening!
