Get a simple Pro-Ject backup or even a Signature 10 or 12 lovely TTs and arm is pretty good IMO

Hope it’s not an expensive fix

I have an SME arm tucked away and intend to use that on a homebuilt plinth. The plan was to use the platter, motor and electronics from the Technics unit, but after stripping the electrics and rebuilding into a separate case with a new power supply I run out of time, plugged it all back together and have been using it as-is ever since. Now the (I suspect) speed control IC has failed for a second time I'm thinking I'll need to source a stouter drive system for the final incarnation....

££ a bit tight at the mo until work gets a bit more reliable, but yes, I should look out for a better quality temporary unit. I'll be more likely to get back building the custom job as well...

Not a bad LP, but not as good as their first three LPs. Does yours come in that annoying PVC sleeve?

Might be worth consider a pink triangle or Boyd with the SME, both should work well
