    Hey Andre.

I short, same reason as why used car prices are at their highest (relatively speaking) for about 20 years - supply and demand and the general state of the economy.

If people who aren't immune to financial concerns (i.e. the non-minted majority) are concerned about the £s then stuff like new cars and HiFi etc are the first to take a hit, and attention turns to the second-hand market as a way to save money.

At the same time, people who would have traded-in/sold their old kit (car, HiFi or whatever), are now hanging on to them and so the choice/volume on the used market drops and the price goes up.

Unfortunately it's just basic market economics and it's not going to get any better until the economy really is on the up again and confidence returns....

Ah let em Steve, i've been selling all my vintage stuff off over the last few weeks. All gone now, a friend bought a massive chunk of it...Just left myself the Ferrograph amp (Up for sale) & Logic Turntable. The decks up for sale i'm not going down the vinyl route, i've decided because the same applies to used records with over inflated prices..I'm kinda in a different position to others, other like many styles of music which is plentifull where as i'm stickly early prog which restricts my second hand too much that i have no option but to pay a fortune for an LP, besides i left vinyl for a reason last time that i really don't want anymore.

    The world s shit..

ps: Not so much the Economy its obvios who's to blame for price increase

No Dave. It's gotta go, gotta put it all behind me & move on, shifted 75 pieces of equipment over the last two weeks.

I put the amp aside for Hamish if he wants it but i'm worried he wont like it & most important i hope it doesnt break down on him!

The only old pieces i wont get rid (only because i use em) is my Mission '737R' speakers.

    System will be:
    Sony 'X222ES' CDP (variable output)/Maverick 24/96 DAC
Brand new power amp (Not decided yet)
    Mission '737R' Speekas

    Thats it.
