Well, it depends on your definition of "posh", and it's entirely subjective. I've never considered 'new money' [the nouveau riche] as truly 'posh', as there's no real substance to their wealth, and often lifestyles are funded by debt.

'Posh' for me is when, for generations, your family has owned land and properties and never had to work to live well.

Plus, crucially had 'class', in terms of being very well educated, both academically, but more so, socially, in terms of breeding and etiquette - all things that go MUCH deeper than a seemingly large bank balance, thus the ability to buy some modern monstrosity, posing as a 'posh house', in a suburban housing estate, considered as 'exclusive' by keeping up with the Joneses types; i.e the very definition of most parts of Bearsden or Newton Mearns in Glasgow.

We used to live just outside of Giffnock, another area in the south side of Glasgow deemed as being 'posh', and only 10 mins from Newton Mearns, where I had many friends from school, so I know what those areas are all about and generally how people there 'tick', and it's fundamentally never been my thing, as the vast majority are snobs and think they're something that they're not, which rarely happens with true 'posh' people, who would consider such behaviour as rather vulgar.

Del's Welsh maiden name of Rhydderch, has royal heritage, going way back, to a chap called King Rhydderch, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhydderch_Hael and here: https://www.heroicage.org/issues/2/ha2rh.htm so it's no wonder she thinks she's a princess!!

Anyway, if you want to see proper 'old money' in Glasgow, drive down Great Western Rd, in the west end, and explore the G12 post-code, where you'll see huge, sprawling, detached red sandstone properties, with driveways that seemingly go on forever. It may be different nowadays, but originally they'd have been owned by genuinely 'posh' people, not superficial 'look at me' key-janglers!

Indeed, mate. That's exactly the message I was conveying. Their 'poshness' is entirely superficial and based on a false premise.

However, you can perhaps understand now (if you didn't before lol, given the links I've posted) why Del does the princess thing with such aplomb!

well yes, if you are descended from royalty, no matter how far off, it gives you something to live up to, and a desire to be adored; or its off with his head(if your lucky)

Lol... Del just mentions that for fun, really. I think she'd have been born with such desires regardless! But I could defo see her sat in the turret room of a castle, barking orders at her maids and servants

I think I've started something though by giving her that dedicated dressing room, as she's now got similar 'plans' for other parts of the house, including this summer having an outdoor patio area/gazebo (which she wants looking 'spangly'/softly lit at night), with a bar area and hot tub, for her and her pals to use, whilst drinking cocktails...

No guesses needed on who's job it'll be to serve them, although I could think of worse things than being in the company of a group of pissed 20-30 year-old scantily-clad girlies, so I may just 'put up' with it

Del's asking if you'd like an invite?

What may be fortuitous, in terms of timing, is we're also going to have CCTV cameras installed, for security around the perimeter of the property, and of course, as a gentleman, I'd *never*, EVER, 'train' one of them on the area surrounding the hot-tub, and scan for 'interesting footage' later

Yesh, dat's cos you're a PERV! Moi? Never... Even though I may be the judge of the 'wet t-shirt competition', which may just (possibly, if the wind's blowing in the right direction), take place as part of the 'evening entertainment', along with another bouncy castle, for lots of subsequent 'bouncing'...
