Used one very similar to this one in a previous system.
Not the cheapest but uses high quality components. I had the version which outputs to coaxial and is spec'd to actually output up to 384KHz/24-bit. It looks like the Toslink version is 'limited' 192KHz/24-bit, if that's of any importance to you. I never had the means to test if it could indeed output any DSD files over coax though. But it worked perfectly for my needs at the time.

I was planning on listing an Audio Gd convertor soon, I should dig it out and get the details.

Depends what you call reasonably priced but there is a used Matrix Audio X-SPDIF 2 available on ebay which are £385 new.
Might be worth an offer?

Most opticals are 24/96. Not enough bandwidth to do dsd either afaik.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".
“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”
“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

What is your source? A computer? If so check if the motherboard has a spdif header. If so just stick with spdif (coax) all the way. I did that on one system (directly wiring a coax cable to the header) and was surprised how good the SQ was. But probably will vary on the quality of the motherboard (possible high jitter on low quality motherboards).
To save directly wiring to the header you can use something like this.
In terms of a usb > spdif converter I've always liked how the MF V-Link 192 does things.
