    That's a shame, the AR3a was a lovely speaker.

    (Is the "seller refurbishment" the adhesive tape covering what looks like the wiring to some of the drive units? I don't remember seeing anything like that on the ones I heard back in the '70s.)

    I think the 'refurbishment' was new surrounds on the bass drivers. The sticky tape, I've seen before and think it may have been original.
    It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

    Well, I had assumed that the tape hanging off was the seller's attempt at refurbishing! I suppose at the time those were a current model no-one removed the grilles,

    I've seen similar tape on other AR models. Presumably to stop the fine wires getting snagged, it does seem crude though.

    Not met reserve again !. Hardly talks them up, me thinks, which could be good or bad thing I suppose. Overhauled at Wembley loudspeakers he states.
    Strange way to sell, price for one but Clearly you need two ?. Eyes and wool arrange the words anyway you wish.
