Anyway, I collected it today, and it sounded mighty fine in the engineer's test system. Interesting too, to see his 'lab' and how he goes about his business, which was fascinating - a real perfectionist!
TBH, now that he's 'breathed on it', as it were, it's simply made it into a more desirable thing and added to the overall pride of ownership

Always fancied a Technics RS-BX707 https://www.cassettedeck.org/technics/rs-bx707/ they seem to be a reasonable price, must be still under the radar.
