    Default Recommendation for speakers

    Hello

I am planning to get Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) Network Audio Streamer with a suitable power amp.

Bang for buck heavily gravitating to the XTZ Edge A2-300. Open to other suggestions though.

Finally need speakers. Room is reasonable size 5 x 4 meters. Essentially speakers either need to be stand mount, or floor mount. No bookshelves. Stands have low WAR - so looking like floor mounts.

Don’t want to break the bank so looking to spend up to around 2000 Euro max on speakers.. these have caught my eye and have ok WAR:

    - Wharfedale Evo 4.4 (1700 euro)

    - Dali Oberon 5 (700 euro)

    - B&W 603 S2 (2000 euro)

    - Monitor Audio Silver 200 (1600 euro)

    Any suggested configurations appreciated !

I live in Switzerland and there don’t seem to be many places to actually go and listen to components and speakers..

It's worth keeping all options open, so consider second hand items too. Speakers tend to be reliable until they get pretty old.

A real alternative sound ro the above is the JBL L82 at around €2K.

This is a smaller version of the L100 Classic so should produce a dynamic room filling sound and should work well with a solid state amp with decent current.

Based on the L100 classic I would expect this to be exceptional with rock and pop.

Yes its a stand mount but with its cool quadrex foam grille (in different colours), its a real looker in a retro way.

in the UK the 603s2 are about 1500 and i am sure a dealer would recuce the price on negotiation . i have just bought the 607s2 anniversary and they are well finished .
