A few folks are liking the AD826 op-amps so maybe worth a try too, you can easily change back to the LM4562 if it doesn't suit

Ok with not having it on Betamax nowadays
The guy (post 26) on here may have a couple spare http://theartofsound.net/forum/showt...?t=6356&page=3
The op-amps are in sockets, as long as your careful making sure ALL pins go into the sockets and the op-amp is NOT reversed its not that hard to do, use something like a small flat blade screw driver to prise up the Lm4562, no soldering required

Just had a look under the board, the cap looks to be part of the flip-flop IC on the set pin input, probably part of the input switching
TBH I don't think you'd gain much upgrading this cap, no harm in trying it though, I'd stick with the stock value
The bigger cap near it would have much more influence![]()

Leo
Thanks, Leo. No point in changing that at all, it's probably just switch bounce logic.
As for the bigger cap, already done![]()
It's the timing cap for the standby button. I don't think switch on/off will sound any better with a more expensive cap, but I stand corrected..
