Into the Voyd and back again

I now have the Audio Note reference set up, I already own a Voyd reference which has been stored away just wanted to compare both as a matter of education. The Audio Note reference is nice not the last word in power and scale but I have plenty of other deck that pip it. The midrange is fantastic and works amazing with the glanz. I like owing more than one deck because each one has there own charm. Compared to my EMT 927 the Audio Note does is not as free flowing from what I am hearing and the bass is not as controlled but the midrange has greater texture with superb integration with the treble which lovely. I will continue to listen. I have 6 decks set up currently and love them all.

Wow that is some choice of decks , whish I had the space to have multiple turntables in my system.

I dont have the Voyd Reference set up currently but will do over the weekend, from memory the Audionote is faster more dynamic, while the Voyd is a bit darker and rounded and a bit sweeter. The Audionote is kind of explosive which is very interesting the Voyd Reference has a sense of plushness but maybe not quite the detail. You cant have everything they are both wonderful in there own way.

I'm going to ask Simon of SJS to do the work on the psu.

That is a very good choice. He knows what he is doing with these. Particularly as he owns a Voyd Reference !!

What to do, we all make these mistakes the amount of times I have sold bits of gear and paid more to buy the same items back is crazy. Did you have the full blown 0.5 with the reference psu or the voyd with just reference bearing and platter.

Absolutely, but it's water under the bridge, I'm very happy with this voyd, it's staying for good.

Its a lovely deck that whole era had fantastic british turntables available like the Alphason sonata and symphony, Pink Triangle anniversary, Townshend Rock Reference. Its such a different market these days cost of production its just so much higher and the market very small and specialised making it remarkably hard and out of reach for most folks. We are now living in a era where 20k turntables look reasonable.

Do you know how much the new Audionote TT3 is going to retail at? I did hear a figure around the 6k mark but that may have changed and there must be a reference version.
