Underground paedophile rings? That's another one I haven't heard about, but a google search revealed that they used to be sold at Ratners. Who on earth would wear one? No wonder the company went tits up.

You really need to get out more. Or stay in more. Or listen to the radio instead. Sorry I'm in a shit mood because I get radio through Alexa, who's telling me this morning that "I can't connect to the pubic wifi, so feel free to dick around with your Alexa app instead of getting ready for work". This keeps happening - time to go old skool, and go back to a radio with an 'on' button.
I just dropped in, to see what condition my condition was in

Interesting, is that a Preston thing or is it widely available?

Dunno, it's just something that Alexa says every now and then, and it remains spazzed out in this fashion until Anita pigs about with her phone to make it right. I don't know how to fix it and have no interest in learning. I'll just shop around for a secondhand DAB radio and Alexa can sod off.

My brother's Alexa was out of control at our Christmas dinner, he had to turn it off in the end it was becoming embarrassing. You don't get that from a clock radio. And a clock radio tells you the time without you having to ask.

It's effectively a spy for 'big brother' (powers that be), of which Amazon are but one, which you've allowed into your home to monitor and control your behaviour. I wouldn't entertain having one if you paid me!

Well we're paying Alexa (through Amazon Prime) and it certainly isn't entertaining me right now. Currently playing Crime of The Century on vinyl, and not once has my trusty deck told me it can't play it (although Mrs. P wishes it would)

On the subject of 'spy in the home', you may think you're safe by not having Alexa, but your 'Smart' TV knows your viewing habits. And combined with all the posts you put on here with certain keywords (royal, baby sussex, etc), you'll only have yourself to blame when the Royal Baby/Royal Wedding commemorative crap starts landing on your doorstep, so don't be thinking it's mischief on my part
