    Hi Guys

I brought the Nytech CTA 252 XD its working but its only playing in MONO on CD MONO switch is Off and tried different cables which are fine with my Quad amps Tried a different link adapter and its still the same a rather odd problem unless someone has wired it for MONO only

Any help would be much appreciated i would love to get this unit going but it was not cheap to start with no i can't get a refund as i tested it and said it was OK..

    Hi Dan
A fault creating Mono hmm interesting - there is a Nytech appreciation thread at Pink Fish https://pinkfishmedia.net/forum/thre...thread.107603/
If the front sockets are headphones try inserting a headphone plug - the options are it is wired so audio cancels the main audio or allows audio through - but at the same time
a position in the circuit where a mono-ing fault might be occurring ie where Left and Right are very close together.

can you post a pic of the innards in case it's something obvious in the wiring eg.mono switch bypassed to on.

Are there any internal fuses, and if so has one of them blown taking down a channel?

    Hi John

I have had a look with the bottom case off and their is really nothing to see - You could have a fair point about a fuse and when i move the balance to the right it moves to the right speaker but when altered to left their is no swap it stays the same as in MONO so i think we are onto something with a fuse.

    To make it clearer:

Is it outputting from one channel only, or both channels but outputting the same from both?

Is it only taking input from one channel, or do the inputs work from both channels and they are then summed to produce the mono output?

Not sure how Nytech are configured, but might it be the Din cable being used is the wrong pin configuration?

    Hi James

I seem to think its outputting for Right hand channel only but coming out of both speakers which is awfully strange both left and right channels are producing sound but its wired to right only as when i move the balance to the right it follows the speaker but when i move it to left it stays the same its complex for me to describe but hopefully i'm making it clear..

Please let me know if this is helping..
