What's the big attraction? It looks rather insipid to me (not a great colour): a classic case of 'all froth and no substance', but then I didn't get to drink it....

IMO, Grant's coffees are MUCH better!! They get me drooling. That thing above doesn't. Sorry! 'Naked' (as in no) taste?

Lol - not diminishing moka pots, far from it (mine will be good enough for me, for some time), but rather my meagre coffee efforts, compared with Grant's!

Even with those, I can still taste (and see) the benefits of using the same (high-quality) super-fresh milk, as I now get delivered from the dairy, as opposed to buying in a supermarket

With all your raving on about your dairy-to-doorstep milk I'm going to start looking around here for a source. Sounds terrific! I know of no supplier here locally who does that, so all our milk is supermarket stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't exist here, with all our draconian health regs and jack-boot inspectors. It's very restrictive for small food producers who want to do something different. It's good in that they're serious about protecting public health, but one hears stories about over-the-top inspection orders....

It was actually produced in a huge massively chromed up multi-thousand pound machine. £10K I would guess.

If you're making milky coffee regularly, it does make a significant difference to the end result, using milk that's as fresh as possible (and from the same source), especially as Grant says in terms of frothing. I've noticed that things deteriorate in that respect once the milk starts getting older, especially if you're buying it in big cartons and not using it up as quickly as you should.

In that respect, it's better to buy a smaller quantity to start with, and replenish it more often with fresh stuff, than have an excess amount ageing/deteriorating inside a large carton at any given time. That's one of the benefits of the dairy, as they sell it in 1 pint bottles, which you can use and replenish quickly, rather than is the case with 2 or 4 pint cartons.

Will do Marco. Friends of my wife are dairy farmers, and it never occurred to me to ask them I'll check our little local Italian grocery store as well - they have all sorts of great products like this, so wouldn't surprise me if they had farm fresh milk in pint bottles. Great shop, that is! We get about 90% of our food there.

they have changed them lately so many ive not tried yet... The Burundi masha is good and is lightly roasted. My fav is the india monsoon although might not be for everyone.
Im awaiting a blend called the italian job. quite fancy it so will let you know on that . should be here today
