But there's not too many cars I can get into .. Needs to have right height in several directions and auto box. The hybrid is good financially as I drive a lot in town so might as well do it for free as much as possible. It at least isn't just a box.
Other vehicle option might be the rather nice Mazda CX-5 which I can get into

Not offended, don't worry. Just explaining why certain body shapes are better sometimes but not always. The chr is quite sporty I guess. It price is good for what you get. Toyota residuals help to keep price down to me. Toyota make so many hybrids they are really not much dearer. I guess it's the buying power keeping price down. Think they are the biggest selling car co in world

I'm not surprised... As Martin says, they're a very well-run company (so it's no surprise that their staff are well-trained), and who produce very good (and extremely reliable) cars.
However, not detracting from the Toyota you're considering getting (which I do like, for YOUR specific purposes), despite the former positives, the cars themselves are a bit 'meh' (extremely practical and functional, but don't exactly get your pulse racing), and are also somewhat conservatively styled, certainly in comparison with their German, Italian or British counterparts.
I prefer something with a bit more pzazz and 'soul'....
For that reason, the only Japanese cars I'd consider owning are from Honda and Nissan (with the likes of their crazy GT-R). I also quite like the Mazda 6 and MX-5 RF. I like Hondas because of their racing pedigree, which trickles down to their road cars. They're superbly engineered, and arguably as reliable as Toyotas.
So yes, if going Japanese, and practical, I'd chose Honda over Toyota. Have you visited any Honda dealers, Grant?

If it's bang right for me I will look no further as it's hard work if not it will be placed on the maybes and search goes on. I don't really need my pulse racing anyway lol just cheered up
