Nice speakers! No records for me again, but there was some hi fi, I picked up a Sony PS-11 record deck, needed to take the bottom off and sort out both the arm lift and auto stop, once done it sounded pretty decent and looks to be a very well made deck with some upgrade or modding potential, also got a Sony SACD player and twin cassette deck which I let my brother have as he was after both, left some Mordant Short MS25is and some interesting large Sony speakers as I had no need for them, was told a Dual and Thorens weren't for me after I pointed out to the seller that neither had the dedicated power supplies, I guess he wasn't looking for educated buyers and wanted someone who wouldn't notice they were missing, see that a fair bit at bootsales, missing power supplies and weights as well as the more obvious and easier to replace headshells.
Well I went to my local booty for the first time since I sold there back in May.
On the upside they’ve really sorted the field and the logistics, and the place was huge - there were twice as many sellers as when I last went.
On the downside, there was nothing of any interest there at all. The only thing I bought was a cup of coffee, and that was dreadful.

Got there about 7:45. I know this is far too late to grab the bargains, but I really can’t be bothered to get up any earlier. I’m not looking for bargains that desperately any more!

Lovely sunny morning today so I called into the booty on my way to Henley to collect a cassette deck.
One low end Yamaha tuner, one low end silver Pioneer amplifier and about 5 Crosleys! I can’t help wondering if there are being disposed of because they’ve chewed their way through the owner’s records and so they’ve gone back to MP3s, or that the rediscovery of vinyl has prompted them to upgrade. I’d like to think the latter, but I suspect the former is more likely.
