    Hi,

Take good care of that Lecson and get it re-capped before it blows up...

    Enjoy your stuff.....
I can't go on and I can't go back, I don't feel so matter of fact,
I tried and tried to make good sense, What's the good to try it all again?

    Thanks Dave,
One of the AP1's has 2 completely new boards a year ago & also had a bit done on the AC1. I've just bi amped the AE's with them both. The quad is running the ls's - at the moment
I understand you know a fair bit about Meridian kit (your days at KJ?).
I have a question for you
I am using the 101 as a phono stage to go into the 501.
Using pins 1&4 on the tape din plug. I can only get it to work by positioning the Tape selector half way between up & down, otherwise there is nothing!
I have tried one of my other 101's & it is exactly the same - any ideas?

    Cheers,
    Colin

I love the look of these Lecson amps.

A nice site about Lecson is here http://www.lothar-kissinger.de/lecson-audio/ (with plenty of old reviews scanned)

    try and replace the 501 with a 502 - it's FAR better.......

If you have all switch levers up on the 101 (phono), the tape output (pins 1 and 4) *should* work ok. I don't remember anything strange about the 101. may be worth a call to Meridian..

Does your 101 have separate phono and eq boards? better if so, as the IMCOS module was a cost-cutting exercise apparently and although claimed to be better, I thought it worse.

Hi Colin, i have a cd 72 as well in my av system, warm safe sounding but a nice up together Micromega stage 3, 5 or 6 will blow it away, when they are working that is

If you post the direct link address it should post your pics without going into your photobucket account, try it on preview first before you post proper like

Lothar is very active on the Lecson Yahoo forum too!

Can't beat a bit of Jazzanova

I am going to get a din plug next week & make a new lead up for the 101 before I contact Meridian.
What is the difference between the 501 & 502 - I have read people rave about the 502, saying it's the best preamp Meridian ever made.
I don't find that much difference between the 101 & 501, but then praps' I'm a bit mutton

Simon, you know you're always welcome to come & have a listen, shame it's nearly a 200 mile trek - each way

    Cheers,

The 502 offers balanced ins and outs as well as phonos and had a sense of air and space missing from the 501 - in mk1 form anyway. I remember the 501 mk2 was much better though. I bought a Bryston instead of the 502 and, after it was powered for 24 hours, the BP25 was ok, but stone cold, the 502 creams it...
