This is time of year when the big spiders come into the house, and not everyone is happy about that. Fortunately me and Mrs. P are fine with them, but when the ankle biters lived here I was constantly having to get off my arse to deal with them.
To relieve the boredom, I often didn't bother with catching them in a glass, but instead I would chase them. The thing is that they are so damn quick but have bugger all stamina so if you can keep them running, without allowing them to escape under the sofa etc, they will only last for about 20 seconds, after which they're too knackered to move and you can pick them up easily. You then have maybe half a minute before they get their breath back.
