There is no way in hell the sort of sound quality as I see it could be achived by going into audioT and spending the money I have spent, I know i have been lucky but I think peope should be made aware of that fact and this forum, in my view, does premote that idea! It would be such a shame to confuse tha ideal for somthing that is effectivly in a lot of peoples eyes the polar oposite!!

Hmm 19 vs 8... If you vote for the second most popular option the first most popular gets 2 votes .. The other 3 votes are marco and steve and a spoiled ballot paper (defaults to ... Yes you guessed it)

The concept is perhaps difficult to explain and to grasp given the history but the intention is that folks get more out of their musical collections in terms of enjoyment on an emotional level. On that basis I'm happy to plug away.

Jean-Paul Sartre in pursuit of his existentialist philosophy (quite difficult to grasp yet quite pure in its principle) acknowledged the limitations of language as a signifier of meaning and believed that fluency, clarity of thought and even sheer verbosity would win through.

I hope through the development of this thread and stripping bare the connotations (both negative and positive) associated with the flat earth doctrine will eventually win through.

Hamish, if you take out mine and Marco's votes you are still left with 17/8 in favour of the evaluation approach devoid of brand preconceptions as things currently stand.

The next step is the mains filter by Anthony - such things are taboo in the bandwaggon-laden definition of flat earth for such things are supposedly improving presentation at the expense of communication by killing dynamics in pursuit of a sound that is easier on the ear. Subjective evaluation to date confirms that in fact, Anthony's filter does not kill dynamics but actually enhances them along with all the benefits of a much lowered noise floor allowing better reproduction of harmonics and detail.

I guess it's a case of getting the best of both worlds, or earths.

There is a loose correlation between flat earth/round earth and subjectivism/objectivism.
Pretty much what I've been getting at Steve tbh.
