There is some genius about Nelson Pass. They have improved the sound to the Westies by a large measure. I think I will be blown away by the addition of a Pre Amp. Here is hoping.Nice one, David. However, I love Nelson Pass designs, and those monoblocks have a beautifully understated visual appeal that I simply love!
I hope they sound as good as they look

Turntable: Heavily-modified Technics SL-1210MK5G [Mike New bearing/ETP platter/Paul Hynes SR7 PSU & regulator mods]. Funk Firm APM Achromat with Nagaoka GL-601 Crystal Record Weight. Isonoe feet & boots. Ortofon RS-212D tonearm with Denon DL-103GL, in a Denon PCL-300 headshell, fitted with Funk Firm Houdini and Kondo SL-115 pure-silver cartridge leads.
Paul Hynes MC head amp/SR5 PSU. Also modded Lentek head amp and Denon AU-310 SUT.
Other Cartridges: Nippon Columbia (NOS 1987) Denon DL-103. USA-made Shure SC35C with NOS stylus. Goldring G820 with NOS stylus. Shure M55E with NOS stylus.
CD Player: Audiocom-modified Sony X-777ES/DAS-R1 DAC.
Tape Deck: Tandberg TCD 310, fully restored and recalibrated as new by RDE, plus upgraded with heads from the TCD-420a. Also with matching TM4 Norway microphones.
Preamps: Heavily-modified Croft Charisma-X. Power Amps: Tube Distinctions Copper Amp, fitted with Tungsol KT-150s. Quad 306.
Cables & Sundries: Mark Grant HDX1 interconnects and digital coaxial cable, plus Mark Grant 6mm UP-LCOFC Van Damme speaker cable. MCRU 'Ultimate' mains leads. Lehmann clone headphone amp with vintage Koss PRO-4AAA headphones.
Tube Distinctions digital noise filter. VPI HW16.5 record cleaning machine.
Speakers: Tannoy 15MGs in Lockwood cabinets with modified crossovers. 1967 Celestion Ditton 15.

It is a month now since the Westminsters were wired up to an old Yamaha Intergrated 70 watt Amp. However now I have improved the system to what follows below. It is a big improvement indeed.
I am using a very early Linn Sondek. Plinth stripped down to original timber and re lacquered, corner bracing added. This has highlighted the beautiful timber underneath all that dreadful stain. New motor and Cirkus Kit fitted. Trampoline Mk2 fitted with new Arm Board.
A Linn Ittok LV2 with Dynavector 20XX cartridge finishes all the above very nicely.
A Linto Phono Section feeds in to an Attenuator which connects to my L5 Nelson Pass Design Monoblocks via Avanti Connects.(This wll go when my Audio Research Pre-Amp arrives.)
From here the signal feeds down QED 2 Silver Anniversary Cable to the Westies. These sit on 4 Spikes I made from 50mm stainless steel tube with spikes welded in to the centres.(With 130 kilos on top of them, they have embedded in to the wooden floor by now)
What am I enjoying on them now, well here goes........all 180gm.......Harvest - Neil Young, Dixie Chicken - Little Feat, Ladies of the Canyon - Joni Mitchell, JT - James Taylor, Mothership - Led Zepplin, Astral Weeks - Van Morrison, The Suburbs - Arcade Fire.
Simon you are in for a treat mate, I bet you can't wait!

Made a few alterations to the baffle on mine and they are in crown cut oak.
Will be using 3839 drivers with external cross overs.
