Here's what's on at my local

    Toy Story 5
The Odyssey (Christopher Nolan film, so not something I'd pay to see)
    Disclosure Day
    Cocktail 2 (seriously?)
    The Devil Wears Prada 2
    The Mandalorian
    Masters Of The Universe

And a couple I know nothing about

    Michael (about Michael Jackson)
    Obsession (psychological horror)
    Backrooms (psychological horror)

Nothing that would really drag me off my ass to go and see.
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > Troels Gravesen Faital 3WC-15.

That's pretty much the same list I would make, although I did enjoy Close Encounters. He has made some real stinkers.

Those two are causing quite the stir. Low budget films made by YouTubers that are outstripping Hollywood films. I've seen both.

Obsession cost $750,000 to make and has taken $287 million (that's film history I believe)
Backrooms cost $10 million to make and has taken $248 million

As a comparison the new Star Wars Mandalorian film cost $165 million and has only taken $315 million, so heading for a loss overall

Went to see Close Encounters when it came out as my father wanted to see it. I mean, it's okay but it's a bit of a shaggy dog story.

I forgot 'Duel' which is a classic but I think it was a TV movie.

Yup, I actually re-watched that recently - he's reused some of that in Disclosure Day!

    Were they any good?

I'm looking forward to AI facilitating us to make our own films from home. That's coming very close now.

To be honest not been to the cinema for quite some time although I do watch a lot of movies at home. From memory last time I went was for the first Lord of the Rings movie which is about 25 years ago. For me and my wife we prefer the comfort of our home, watch on a decent 65 inch telly and if you need a drink or a pee you just press pause.

I thought they were extremely good Martin, especially Obsession. Both are on my list of best films I've seen this year (at the cinema), which has 10 on there now, none of which are Hollywood films. Five are foreign language films.

Not a bad last film to see

I was in New Zealand when the final one came out, The Return of the King. I went to a cinema in Christchurch on release day, well day before, as they started screening it at 1 minute past midnight. Prior to that they screened the first two films in their extended versions and the whole thing started about 4 pm and concluded about 3.00am. Most people in the audience dressed up as characters. New Zealand was gripped by LotR fever at that time. It was quite something to see.

Jackson is another director I don't rate. Those LOTR films are a mix of very good and very, very bad. I don't think he really understood the source material.

Could probably be re-cut into something that isn't so badly flawed.
