After 35years of shopping there I still spend most of my money in Rough Trade
Im in no way shape or form linked to this shop but just happened to "find" it. I spent £35 of my hard earned to try and offer some support. Stu, the guy who runs the shop has a very nice selection of new and used vinyl and is happy to haggle. I got a few quid knocked off a Russian import of Black Sabbath! Please pop in and support him if you can. I have added a link with more info http://alternativebarnsley.wordpress...debut-records/
Thanks for reading lads!

We're just back from a few days in Cornwall and on Saturday I went to a shop called Music Nostalgia in Truro (it's in the Pannier Market on the Lemon Quay if you want to go there yourself).
Well, what a delight it was! They have a massive selection of new vinyl - more than I have seen for years, apart from perhaps Diverse Vinyl. They also have a good stock of used stuff too, mostly at reasonable prices.
Nice friendly folk and lots of appreciative customers.
So what did you buy?
Marco.

From yesterday's portion of Spinning Today:
Just back from a trip away - no music except the car stereo since Thursday - boo, hiss!
First album on the TT?
A newly acquired copy of an album I used to own, as did Mrs Wazzles, yet neither of us know what happened to either copy.
Robin Trower - 'Long Misty Days'
...and...
....and...
New Rhino vinyl.
I'll have to compare this to my WWA originals.
Plainsong - 'In Search of Amelia Earheart'
A lovely new pressing of this old beauty! Excellent.

Great idea.
But...technology leveraging? Really?.......technology leveraging.......I'd rather not!
Stuart, there is an App for iPad/iPhone etc called "The Vinyl District: Record Store Locator" which does just this.....so whatever city you find yourself in the world you can get a list of record stores in ranked distance from your location (and a map facility).....it's helped me in Germany, Spain, the USA and even in Yorkshire......and it's all free. That is, free but somehow not cheap when it helps you discover that you're staying close to a Vinyl store, in fact it can be pretty expensive.....but it's only money :-)

I just found another site with a lot of record stores listed by location - but the search function is not available (they want you to buy the guide for each city)
However, there is a FREE way to get the info.
Open google, use this search:
records site:http://www.spottedbylocals.com/
Try it, you may be surprised... there are lots of record stores listed, many are not in the Vinyl District.
Can you say "wow, really like finding records everywhere"?
- (the way elmer fund would say it... of course!)
