    Default 45 rpm adapters

Not wishing to detract from MartinT's excellent post on the finer points of the Dynavector arm, I thought I'd open a new thread.

I couldn't help but notice that there is a 45rpm record adapter on the deck.
    Is it used ?
Have you tried playing records both with and without the adapter in its holder ?
Does it make a difference whether the adapter is there or not ?

Before I get accused of taking the Michael, I have been a long term proponent of removing TT dust covers for record replay.
The 45 rpm adapter is a potential source of sympathetic vibration. I acknowledge that you've gone a long way down the path of resonance and vibration control.
This might make a minor difference.
    Equally it might not.

    Hi Chris

To be perfectly honest I've never given it a thought! I certainly agree about lids and always run the deck without its lid but that adapter has remained in its place, unused and unloved. I'll try removing it and listening but don't hold your breath
