    Thank you Howard - the Dartington Home Festival looks very interesting, not least of course because of Suzanne Vega.

    Battles are on tour this summer...with a new album

    06-03 - Brighton, UK - Concorde 2
    06-04 - Manchester, UK - O2 Apollo
    06-05 - Dublin, IE - Forbidden Fruit Festival
    06-06 - Leeds, UK - Cockpit
    06-07 - Glasgow, UK - The Arches
    06-27 - Birmingham, UK - HMV Institute (Booked @ £15)
    07-01 - London, UK - Wireless Festival
    12-10 - Minehead, UK - ATP Nightmare Before Christmas (Got my tickets already)

    You're probably more familiar with them than you think as they've been used by both Audi & Honda for various adverts over the past couple of years. The best newish rock band bar none IMHO

    Edit; Don't take my word for it, how about Mr. Eno;

    “When you see a band you really like, the reason you really like them is because you wish you’d had that idea. And when I saw Battles I thought, “Damn! Why didn’t I think of that?” - Battles fan Brian Eno

    P.S. The singer has now departed

    I was at The Arches gig. The acoustics did not suit such a hard drumming sound, but otherwise it was excellent. I get all my concert notifications through a brilliant site Songkick

    http://www.songkick.com/

    where you register, track bands and get e-mails if the bands announce tours.

    cheers for the tip

    ...very good gig last night, the HMV institute/library is a pretty good venue for sound, the drummer was immense. I suppose the only downside is that without the original vocalist it does restrict their set options...
