I saw The Robert Cray Band at the Manchester Apollo a good few moons ago, and it was a bit like attending a lecture - the playing & singing was perfect, but therein lies the problem - there was no spontaneity in the performance, nor was there any interaction with the audience worth mentioning.
I hope that they've they've outgrown their shyness

I'm RichardbutpreferRich.
I fear you may be right Chris. However as fan of the electric guitar, Robert Cray is somone I feel I should have seen but never have and as the gig was local and at a small venue I felt it was too good an oppurtunity to miss. At least I will be able to tick him off the list. The week after the Rober Cray gig I'm off to see Eric Johnson for the first time also.
The Joanne Shaw Taylor sounds good but midweek trips up to the smoke can be a pain especially if I have to work the next day However I may yet still be tempted
