Sunday Matinee...(probably a double bill) first up, Rambo, First Blood. 1982. first and best of the Rambo films.
Directed by Ted Kotcheff, and co-written by Sylvester Stallone, who also stars as Vietnam War veteran John Rambo. Made 10 times its cost but was slated initially by the critics(what do they know eh?)

Watched that last night. Great film. I think it was the first film I ever saw on video - my mate's wealthy dad had just bought a VCR so we went down the offy and rented First Blood and Hawk The Slayer. Would have been 1983 I think.

He's good in the first Rocky film too.
His problem was always that he mainly opted to star in crap films.
Interestingly he reckoned that Copland killed his career despite all the good reviews he got for it.
