Is one of the stories a over OCD husband that likes everything perfectly organised, She ends up chopping him up & putting him in jars where his nails & screws would have been?

It isn’t but that sounds intriguing. Another compilation (from the 30s I think) ‘Dead of night’ has the haunted mirror story, where when the main character looks in an antique mirror he sees a different room to his own in the background.

Just thought on, is Joan Collins one of the story tellers?

I remember seeing both of those stories, but not sure where. Hammer and Amicus made quite a few 'compitation' horror films.

She is, in a xmas set tale with a psychopath dressed as santa.

Another Pricey film I must revisit is Dr Phibes where he kills his victims in ingenious ways (force feeding a food critic to death, played by Robert Morley).

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy.”

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”
