The Haunting of Hill House (NetFlix)

Well the spirit of the 60s Robert Wise film The Haunting is strong in this TV series, plenty of creepy atmosphere and scares. Well worth a watch

Great film that.. Great script and chemistry between stars.

Now, the Frank Capra classic starring Gable and Colbert.

    It Happened One Night.

One of the great movies, and from way back in 1934.

    Hard Rain

Implausible thriller, yet it’s quite gripping with a constantly changing ‘goodies’ and ‘baddies’ dynamic. Worth watching if you have a couple of hours to spare.

A heavy rainstorm and severe flooding cause the sheriff and residents of a local town to evacuate and abandon it. However, an armoured vehicle carrying $3 million gets caught in the storm, making it a sitting duck for a gang of bandits, led by Jim (Morgan Freeman), who attempts to steal the cash. To prevent the bandits from getting their hands on the money, the van's driver, Tom (Christian Slater), runs off with it, but escape is not going to be easy with the water rising to life-threatening levels.

    Satisfactory ‘focus group’ ending?

I have seen it, but didn't think it all that great.

I enjoyed it, but it's certainly not one to remain in my collection. It didn't cost me anything so I will loose nothing when I pass it on to the charity shop.

    Now for something much better:

    The Lives of Others

Saw this at my cinema club a few years ago and was very impressed. It will remain in my collection.

"12 Monkeys", recorded off SyFy channel. In my top ten favourite films, although NO ONE I know likes it, so I always see it on my Bill.
Pining for the fjords? What kind of talk is that? And why did he fall flat on his back the minute I got him home?
