Might Watch the first 'Planet Of The Apes' movie in bed tonight, i bought the six DVD box set with the five 60's/70's movies + bonus disc a while back at a give away price, you can still get it cheap now

    ..
It's a brilliant film but I can't watch it now without thinking of the Troy Maclure musical: 'Stop The Planet of The Apes, I Want To Get Off' :

Leading on from Al's Mac woes elsewhere, we watched 'Jobs' last night.

What a load of old tosh. Must be the worst biopic I have ever seen. Whatever you think of the man, whoever wrote this seems to have left all the important bits out on purpose. All the characters were cardboard cutouts and the jumps between time made it look as though Steve had also cracked time travel too (or at least, one of his technical people had).

Just made to cash in on his death. Utter crap.

Not sure I shall bother watching after the first ten minutes of utter tripe.

It looked bad from the trailers which is always a warning sign.

Film makers seem to think that if you make it moody enough, with enough special effects to impress, then you can get away with nonsense dressed up as meaningful and acting to make the Ents look wooden, together with a script that is basically a series of grunts. They have some of the Ents in here helping to build the ark too. I think, on balance, just, I prefer the Ents in Lord of the Rings but they didn't quite manage to live up to the image I had of them from reading the books.

So thats two out of two that get zero points from the French jury.

We have just watched Alien resurrection.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, by far the best of the follow ups. Could never beat the original but a bloody good effort.

The pair of us were holding hands whilst we watched (all together now) but we had to let go as we were leaking a bit - I don't sweat and Ronnie just glows of course.

    Great.
