Gritty, weird, or even grim stories can appeal though. '8mm' is too much for most, I thought it excellent though. 'Arlington Road' is grim too. 'Jacob's Ladder' is grim and weird. 'Rush' (1991) is gritty, intense and rather grim (one for Marco I reckon).
It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

... Never really been into them, I do see why folk like them tho. I prefer quality scripts and top acting personally. Whether it be comedy, drama etc its not important. Some horror-ish films have been decent..Dog Soldiers I liked. 28 Days Later, etc.. Give me Young Frankenstein every time tho lol
