The UK has some troubling stuff going on as well, a slow creep to… something, unless it’s stopped.

Seems mostly down to changes in law passed by Fear-mongers in the previous Tory Government.
Some of the Peoples protections were stripped away under the guise of right wing rhetoric “immigrants eating our grandchildren” or whatever.
Not convinced Starmer is doing enough to reverse the more damaging ones sadly.

Trump put out this meaningless Tweet on Social Media on January 6th, for example.



He clearly knew there were people in that crowd (whom he whipped up at a previous rally) who were ready and intended to be violent, and he certainly did nothing to discourage that.
He not only did nothing to discourage it, he strongly hinted it should happen.

In fact,
A post Jan 6th Select Subcomittee hearing in Washington investigating the January 6th events concluded that Trumps Tweets and his statements at a previous Rally DID incite the attack in the Capitol that day.
Several of the people arrested that day, the more gullible MAGA types, were quoted as saying Trump told them to do this.

I'm really not seeing that anything much has happened as of yet. Like for example, in a post above you say he's 'defunding NASA' but all that's happened so far is they have said DOGE will be reviewing the NASA budget along with all the other Federal spending. They've barely even started that.

Has his China tariff even come into effect yet? He's put off all the other ones he threatened.

As far as his first term goes you could have asked that question then, but there's been covid and a 4 year Democrat term in between now, so it's a bit late in the day for that.

You'd think from the experience they got from the first term they may have learned how to do some work-arounds of the system and actually accomplish some of their goals this time but it's way too early to say yet.

Thousands of Civil Servant government workers have been laid off.
Entire Government Departments have been dissolved.
Tens of thousands of people removed, families separated and sent to other countries.

It’s all out there and being reported.


My Take?

Trumps first term he didn’t even want to win, just raise his profile.
He did some illegal and dodgy shit whilst President, which he was Indicted for.

14th Amendment of Constitution should have prohibited him from running again, but hey, this is Trump and his minions.
He put enough Judges in the supreme Court and Justice Department during his first Term to run the clock for 4 years and hold off prosecution…

And reran with Elon Musk’s social Media influence behind him to win in debatable circumstances…
to keep him out of Jail.
Everyone’s a winner, quid pro quo.

And we are now where we are.
Bigger players are working here, behind Trump, this is very different.

My gut tells me somethings very rotten in the State of America and it’s coming to a head during Trumps presidency.
We shall see, very happy to be wrong.
