On the American forums they're always complaining about the hurricanes but when you offer to swap locations with them funnily enough there's no interest.
I bet you forgot to mention the Spar shops. That would have won them over.

Southern Spain, Canaries, probably cheap enough there and year-round ok weather. Or further afield India or Thailand, I hear you can live like a king over there for tuppence every four years.

The nearest one's a bit of a trek from me, though, and when you go in the owner follows you around.

I suppose they would just drive to it, and leave the engine running while they're inside shopping.

I mean there's no hurricanes or 20 foot storm surges, you'd think that alone would sell it to them.

No problem with alligators in the swimming pool either. Of course there is no swimming pool, but in principle it's one less thing for them to worry about.

Not so easy now to move to Spain or the Canaries after Brexit, and we looked at moving the States a few years ago but the £ was a longer stronger against the $ then, different ball game now.

I don't fancy any of them. Has to be Florida or California. California is warm and there's some good record shops.

Maybe once Trump gets going there will be some more motivation to swap.

Following that logic, chances are all your neighbours will then be Trump supporters. Whatever you might think of Trump, the folk who voted him in will be a lot worse.

I think I'd choose California over Florida, which has way too many people the same age as me

Sun coming out for the second day running. Still won't be dry enough to give the grass a final mow due to all the dew, but I'll have to anyway. But first deal with all the fallen leaves, must be a couple of wheely bins worth.

Sunny start, then overcast, and by teatime extreme fogginess. Real peasouper, don't get that very often these days.

Despite the BBC local weather report, we're back to the crap dark and cold after just two nice days.

Next week we are due for some 5c days and rain. Lovely..
