Is it a Sugden A21se Signature? If so, the fuse is under the mains connector on the rear of the amplifier, to the right of the speaker connections.

That sounds like there is a problem with the power supply. It could be a number of things: faulty mains transformer; faulty diodes or bridge rectifier, or even one or more of the smoothing capacitors.

Is there a audio dealer near you who could look at it and diagnose the problem?

There's a few dealers, but I don't think any deal in sugden, the fuses inside the amp are ok. no stray speaker wire, as I use plugs.

They don't need to deal in Sugden, an amplifier's an amplifier. As long as they have a repair service, they'll look at it.

In the meantime get a reliable Japanese amp, like a Sony or JVC.
