Default Any thoughts on Project/Pro-Ject CD Box DS2T?

    Evening all,

I'm looking for a CD player/transport to use in a half-width system in the bedroom. I'm using it with an ancient Thorens TDA-2000 DAC, so will only need a transport and I'm not risking a matching Thorens CDA-2000, because of the age of the mechanical and optical transport components, if I could even find one. The Project DS2T came up in my searches today, but don't know how good or reliable the current crop of Project CD players are. I was looking at the Cyrus CDt as well, but the price on that seems to have gone up hugely in recent times and I'm not sure I'd hear the benefit in a not-ideally-positioned bedroom system.

    Thoughts, please :-)

    Many thanks,

    Steph

Have you looked at the Cyrus/Mission shoebox players/transports? Such as the CDi and CD7. They are available for less than £1500 (new) and the older ones (which you don't trust for reliability) are from £250 upwards.

Have a look at the Shanling ET3
