    Default AES/EBU v Coax

Are the audible differences worth the exrea outlay on a DAC supporting AES/EBU conections? How much better is using this connectivity over coax?

I have a Dac that takes an AES/EBU input and it has balanced analogue outs. I use a DIY RCA to AES/EBU gadget (very simple to make or you can buy from Neutrik) and IMO it gives an airier and more altogether performance than digital RCA. It is of course a bit of a fudge but to my ears is sounds fine.
