I love Hendrix for so many reasons. He was so much more than just a blues guitarist - he played damn well any kind of guitar he wanted. In fact I'm not sure if he even played the guitar - he played music. - Stevie Ray Vaughan

In 1959 this was the day the music died with the passing of Buddy Holly. Not sure I agree. Frank Zappa once said "Jazz is not dead, it just smells funny". I think this probably applies to most genres.

Did you know that Holly was inspired to write 'That'll Be The Day' when watching 'The Searchers'?

(It being the catchphrase of the John Wayne character).

I never made that connection before, just read about it recently.

it's had exactly zero impact on my life.

In my last job a girl who sat next to me used to spend her whole day playing 'Farmville.'

One day a director came over to speak with her and she tried to click off it but it froze and was half visible on her screen the entire time he was talking to her. I thought this is it for you love.

Needless to say she got promoted a few months later.
