But how do I connect 1 preamp to 3 power amps ?

Also does it matter if the 3 power amps are of different wattage?

use the most powerful one for the bass
    Current Lash Up:

    TEAC VRDS 701T > Sony TAE1000ESD > Krell KSA50S > JM Labs Focal Electra 926.

That was what I thought if it is at all possible, most powerful for bass , next down for the mids then weakest for the treble.

And then buy new speakers coz I’ve blown them to bits

I used RCA splitters to run from a Cyrus pre to Ruark Talismans using a Quad 405 to the tweeters and a Quad 909 to the bass. Very successfully and made a vast improvement than bi-wiring or just using either amp singly with links on the speakers.

Maybe do it that way for the bass and mid speakers and links for the tweeters.

Mark Grant supplied to two 5 metre RCA cables so I could place the amps next to the speakers.

Something like these for the pre-amp outs.

Sent by me using an appendage

SME Model 15/V tonearm, Lyra Dorian, EAR Phono Box.

    Luxman 509X amp.

    PMC 25 23i speakers.

    Innuos/Roon/Qobuz/I-Pad. Oppo UDP-205.

Cables by Kimber, Yannis and Audioquest.

Audioquest Niagara. Tube Distinctions Mains power filter. Project RCM. Zerostat.

Wattage is less of an issue than gain, they all need to have the same gain. Manufacturers will often make different models with the same gain but not always.

The more amps you take off an output the higher the chance of an impedance mismatch so you want a low impedance pre and high impedance power.

Most power amps have a sufficiently high input impedance, and most preamp have a sufficiently low output impedance, that there should not be a problem driving the amplifiers in a tri-amp system.

It is only when you mix valve preamps with solid state power amps, where problems might occur as some valve preamps can have a high output impedance.

This is true I should have said it's unlikely with all SS. Valve and passive pres should be avoided in this setup.
