Default Roksan Xerxes original power supply problem?

I have the original Xerxes with the original psu. It has not been used for some time. I fired it up yesterday and the platter is going ANTI-CLOCKWISE! I have left the psu on all night in case caps need to reform and nothing has changed. It changes speed just in reverse! ( pls no wit about dark devilish messages) Has any one here experienced this? I have checked all the connections into the psu and all seem sound. Very puzzled. It was fine when put away.

This has all the hallmarks of a capacitor issue - time for a re-cap I'd say.

I think I have resolved the issue. I had had to remove the board to repair the large resistors that had broken away from the board tracks. In replacing the cables I got the order wrong - I followed an image I found on the internet and the colour code was the opposite to what mine should be - swap the green and blue cables over - shoddy production standards in the day?

I had contacted the new Roksan owner themself and they told me that such irregularites were common in the early days with this gear

Yes, the Mk1 PSU had a reputation, you don't see many still working these days (unless you're watching an Inspector Morse repeat). A very, very good deck though, I had one for a while.
