    Default Tonearm Service

I have recently been really surprised and delighted by the sound quality from a combination of a new tonearm and my favourite MM cartridge - the ADC ZLM. The tonearm is a super lightweight vintage affair - the Denon DA401 - with a carbon fibre tube and resin headshell. It appears to be a perfect match for the high compliance ZLM and the sound quality with my Sony TTS8000 is really, really good and a definite alternative to the more massy arms and MC cartridges I have.

Given how delighted I am with the arm, but also knowing its age, I am looking for someone to service and internally rewire it. A bearing check/replacement and lubrication seem to me to be sensible and I am looking for recommendations for tonearm specialists.

Normally, I would ask Audio Origami but they only work on SME, Rega and Linn now.
Main system: Sony TTS8000; AT1010; Audio Technica Art1; The Lentek; Cambridge 851n, Yamaha NS1000.
    System 2 - SBT; Technics SH-X1000 DAC; Denon PMA-850

I too would have recommended Johnny at Audio Origami, as he repaired the sagging suspension on one of my SME arms.

However I also took note of the final sentence of Geoff's query. The other recommendations are likely to be more successful.

That’s strange he did my alpha son recently.

    How recent was that?

I hope Johnny is still willing to service, repair and modify other tonearms, as I would be interested in having my EMT 929 modified.

I guess the obvious answer is to phone Audio Origami to find out.
