Think the heat sinks have been enlarged somewhat as original design didn't stay cool enough. It certainly looks like it wants to TAKE OFF.

“Nothing discloses real character like the use of power. It is easy for the weak to be gentle. Most people can bear adversity. But if you wish to know what a man really is, give him power. This is the supreme test. It is the glory of Lincoln that, having almost absolute power, he never abused it, except on the side of mercy".

“You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police ... yet in their hearts there is unspoken fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts: words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home -- all the more powerful because forbidden -- terrify them. A little mouse of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.”

"You don't have free will. You have the appearance of free will.”

“There's a war out there, old friend. A world war. And it's not about who's got the most bullets. It's about who controls the information. What we see and hear, how we work, what we think... it's all about the information!”

It is impossible for anything digital to sound analogue, because it isn't analogue!

Yes - it follows the 'industrial brutalist' school of design. The grey colour enhances the brutalist look.

    Me too.

Too much kit these days either reminds me of something that came off a display in the perfume department at Lewis' or is blander than a London Grammar album.

    That's a man's amplifier.

And it won’t fit in the aperture of the tv unit
Well it will but with only a 25mm gap either side , not enough according to the manual. Damn it .

That is a very satisfying outcome! It's one of the best feelings when you happen across of a piece of kit that just sounds "right". Well done mate, I hope it gives you many years of service.

Not surprisingly, class A amplifiers run hot (the maximum theoretical efficiency is 50%, and most amps have a somewhat lower efficiency).

But whatever - Micromega have a good reputation in the world of audio.
Had the micromega running for around 6 hours yesterday, it gets hot , hot like a class A amp !
I have emailed micromega asking for more info.
